ADA Accessibility Statement

General

We’ve worked hard creating a great looking website for the sighted. We’ve also strived to make our website universally accessible. This balance is not an easy, or simple task.

Accessibility

We’ve tried to make our website’s content accessible to people requiring accommodations for blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, limited movement, speech disabilities, photo-sensitivity, color blindness, and combinations of these, plus some accommodation for learning disabilities and cognitive limitations. In addition to sensitivity with which the site was built, we also incorporated two accessibility plugins:

  1. UserWay Website Accessibility Widget that is powered by a dedicated accessibility server. The software allows our website to improve its compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1), and
  2. Divi-Accessibility Plugin plugin by CampusPress.

Enabling the Accessibility Menu

The UserWay accessibility menu is enabled by clicking the accessibility menu icon that appears on the corner of the page. After triggering the menu, please wait a moment for it to load in its entirety.

Disclaimer

In an ongoing effort to continually improve and remediate accessibility issues, we also regularly scan this website with UserWay’s Accessibility Scanner to identify and fix every possible accessibility barrier on our site. Despite our efforts to make all pages and content on roberthorowitzdds.com fully accessible, some content may not have yet been fully adapted to the strictest accessibility standards. This may be a result of not having found or identified the most appropriate technological solution.

No matter the platform upon which a website is built, the standards set forth in WCAG 2.1 are complicated and not always easy to meet.  We may be unable to address every user need for people with these disabilities. In fact, WCAG 2.1 acknowledges this in the first paragraph of its abstractThat said, we are continuing our efforts to constantly improve the accessibility of its site and services in the belief that it is our collective moral obligation to allow seamless, accessible, and unhindered use also for those of us with disabilities. We hope that we’ve managed to balance visual esthetics and accessibility, and we know there is always room for improvement. It is our goal is to do so, if possible.
